Patient Care Tech Schools in MissouriChoose one of the patient care technician programs in Missouri local to you today! The career of a patient care technician is becoming more popular by the day. Within healthcare jobs, it is growing well above the national average. A PCT is a similar job to that of a CNA or HHA in the most basic functions of the job. All three jobs care for patients on a daily basis and assist them with core daily functions like meals, bathing and etc. But, only the PTC can perform medical procedures and treatments. An example is phlebotomy treatments cannot be done without certification and patient care techs have that certification. Although in theory a CNA or HHA could have a phlebotomy certification, it is very uncommon. But all patient care techs are CNA, CPR and phlebotomy certified at minimum. There are even opportunities for PCTs to earn a dialysis and EKG certification as well.
