A PTC or Patient Care Technician is a highly skilled nurse aide, similar to a CNA or HHA but very different when you see the scope of practice for each job. A CNA are not trained at the level patient care techs are. CNAs are not permitted to do EKG readings or dialysis services for example, but PTCs can and are certified to do just that. Both careers involve caring for those cannot care for themselves on a daily basis, but the services they provide differ greatly.
