Certification is not mandated by law in Minnesota for medical assistants. But, it is strongly suggested for a few reasons. Step 3 – Select Accredited Training for Medical Assisting in Minnesota

the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs are the two regulating associations for medical assisting in Minnesota. If you attend and pass one of their approved courses, you will be in your way to getting certified. if you don’t attend a program approved by them, you cannot sit for the certification exam and are not eligible for licensing.
