Step 2: Pass the NREMT Examinations for EMT Certification in WY
Wyoming uses the NREMT exam for certifying their emergency medical techs. It is a two exam certification process and is nationally recognized as the best way to test the knowledge and skills of an aspiring EMT. Pass the exams and you can apply for your license in Wyoming as an EMT. All NREMT tests in Wyoming are given by PearsonVUe at their testing facilities across the state.
Step 3: Get Your EMT License in Wyoming and Get on EMT Registry
The final step in becoming an Emergency Medical Technician in Wyoming is to apply for your EMT license and get listed on the EMT registry from the NREMT. THe EMT registry costs $80 and after getting certified, you can get listed. To apply for licensure from the Wyoming Department of Health, you will need to create an account online with the Online Wyoming licensure System, or (OWLS) system. A background check and finger prints on an FBI blue card also will done for licensure. There is a $39 fee for the background check and a $5 fee for the fingerprinting.
