Step 2: Have a Current CPR certificate or equivalent
All training for emergency medical techs require that you have a CPR certificate that is valid and current or the certificate must be included in your training course (it is commonly included in training).
Step 3: Pass the National Registry’s EMT Adaptive Assessment
Louisiana uses the NREMT for only one of its exams and gives their own psychomotor examination. You will have to pass the adaptive exam from the NREMT and the psychomotor exam from the Louisiana Department of EMS. An EMR, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic will take different certification exams from the NREMT.
