Become an Emergency Medical Technician in Georgia in a Few Steps

Step 3: Earn a CPR certificate

To be eligible for EMT certification in Georgia, you will have to have a CPR certificate. Your certificate can be earned at an external program like the Re Cross or it may be in your training program.

Step 4: Take and Pass the NREMT assessments

There is a Cognitive Exam (based on general knowledge) and a Psychomotor Exam (testing your skills demonstration) on the NREMT certification examination. Click here for more details about the EMT exams. Once you pass them you can get on the registry and start finding your first EMT job in Georgia

Step 5: Become registered on the National EMT Registry

After you complete your training and pass the NREMT exam you have 30 days to get your name listed on the EMT registry. After that occurs, you can call yourself an emergency medical technician.
