Step 3 – Satisfy the state of WI training hours requirement
Programs in Wisconsin require you to meet the state minimum of 120 hours in a hands-on clinical setting, as well as 32 hours in class. These mandated hours need to be met before you are eligible to challenge for your license and take the NNAAP exam in Wisconsin.
Step 4 – Pass the NNAAP CNA certification exam
Wisconsin uses the NNAAP exam for their CNA licensing test. The test is given out by PearsonVue. You will need to check with the service to find out about test dates and times for when the upcoming exams are going to be given at the link given.
The cost of the full exam costs $115 while the skills examination costs $70 and the oral or written examination, $45.
Step 5 – Get listed on the WI Certified Nurse Aide Registry
After passing the certification exam, the final step you must take to begin earning a living as a nursing assistant in Wisconsin is getting your name listed on the nurse aide registry. Maintained by PearsonVue for the state of Wisconsin, this is a checklist of all of the certified nursing assistants that are approved for employment across Wisconsin. After successfully passing the licensing exam, PearsonVue will contact the registry and in a bout two weeks, your name will be added.
