How to become a CNA in Utah

Step 1 – Any Enrollment Requirements Must be Met

Step 3 – Meet the state’s training hours requirement
Programs in Utah have standards for training and they are the requirement of completing 100 hours of clinical training, as well as 24 hours of classroom training and education. To be able to register for the licensing exam, you will have to fulfill this demand.
Step 4 – Pass the Utah CNA certification exam
Certified nursing assistants in Utah earn licensing and certification by taking and passing the CNA exam. The exam is given by the national examination provider Testmaster. Go to their website here to see and learn about examination dates and times for when the upcoming examinations will be given. There is also a link to an updated PDF with tons of great information. Information changes and moves around a lot and we have found this to be the best spot to stay alert and in tune with what has changed.
All applications have a $75 fee in the state of Utah for aspiring CNAs.
Step 5 – Become listed on the Utah Certified Nurse Aide Registry
The last step besides actually looking for your first CNA job in Utah is to get on the Utah Nursing Aide Registry. The Utah Health Technology Certification Center handles registry duties for the state of Utah and after you pass the Utah CNA licensing exam, they will be notified by Testmaster and put you on the registry in about a week or so in most cases.
