Step 3 – Meet training hours requirement in South Dakota
Finish a total of 75 hours in the classroom and 16 hours of training in a clinical environment so you can move forward and take the CNA licensing test.
Step 4 – Pass the South Dakota CNA test
South Dakota nurse aides must pass the CNA test given by the South Dakota Health Care Association through Headmaster LLP in order to receive their certifications. Follow the link here to see where the tests are given across South Dakota.
The cost of the skill test is $89 and the cost is either $70.50 for a written knowledge exam or a cost of $80.50 for an oral knowledge exam.
Step 5 – Become listed on the South Dakota Nurse Aide Registry
The South Dakota Board of Nursing will be informed immediately after you pass the CNA test given by the South Dakota Health Care Association through Headmaster LLP. The registry is the complete listing of certified CNAs in the state that can work in the state of South Dakota. It will commonly take up to 2 weeks for your name to get added to the registry.
