The level of Geriatric Nurse Aide certification in North Carolina is also given by the (NCDHHS) NC Department of Health and Human Services. Requirements for CNA Training

Enrolling in a CNA training program in North Carolina requires that you have fulfilled the following checklist.

17 years old or older
Pass drug test
Negative TB test
Pass FBI background check
Pass health test
Proof of immunizations (Hepatitis B, varicella, TDaP, two-step PPD)

The state of North Carolina requires you to satisfy the state minimum of 16 hours in a hands-on clinical setting, and 75 hours in a classroom setting. The required hours must be satisfied before you can be permitted to take the NNAAP licensing test.

Pass the NNAAP examination

Nursing assistants in North Carolina are required to pass the NNAAP in order to complete their certification. The examination is administered by the national examination provider PearsonVue.
