Step 1: Meet the Entrance Demands for Classes
The state of Utah states that all EMT candidates have to within 120 days of their 18th birthday when they complete their EMT training. You must be able to pass a background check and a TB test for your license, so it must be considered from the beginning.

How long does Utah EMT training take?
All EMT courses in Utah will be at least 130 total hours of education and training. 120 hours of traditional EMT courses with 10 clinical training hours (10 patient assessments).

Step 4: Pass the National Registry EMT Exams
The NREMT exams from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians is the EMT certification exam of choice by the state of Utah. All aspiring EMTs in the state must pass each of them to be able to get licensed.
