The Steps to Becoming a Pharmacy Technician in Massachusetts
The state of Massachusetts requires anyone who wants to become a pharmacy technician must be 18 years old, have a HS diploma/GED, have completed either a Board-approved program or have spent a minimum of 500 hours employed as a pharmacy tech trainee. Candidates cannot have a drug-related felony conviction on their record either to be a pharmacy technician.
After getting licensed, candidates are able to work in a variety of environments under the directing supervision of the pharmacist. The four-step procedure for becoming a pharmacy technician in Massachusetts is reflected below.
Step 1: Decide how you Want to get Certified
You can get certified as a CPHT by a national organization or you can pass your accredited training and take an exam from your employer that is certified by the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy. Step 3: Finish the Approved Pharmacy Tech Program in Massachusetts
After finding an accredited program that meets your needs, the next step is to finish it. To be able to register for your license with the MA Board of Pharmacy, all candidates must complete accredited and approved pharmacy tech training in Massachusetts.
Step 4: Pass the PTCE or ExCPT
