How to become a CNA in Nevada
Nevada’s Certified Nursing Assistants are mandated meet the training and exam requirements set forth by the Nevada Board of Nursing. The Nevada Board of Nursing also manages the NV nursing aide registry.
Step 1 – Meet the Demands for Nevada CNA Program Entry

HS diploma/GED
Must be at least 17 years old

Proof of immunizations

Negative TB test

Step 3 – Meet the individual training requirements for Nevada
There is a minimum requirement of completing at least 75 hours of training while completing your training to be able to take the CNA certification test in Nevada.
Step 4 – Pass the Nursing Assistant Competency Exam
Prometric handles all testing for aspiring nurse aides in the state of Nevada. Here is a list of all the metropolitan areas in Nevada where the test is administered. Check with Prometric to see exam schedules and also when the upcoming examinations are going to be given in your area.
With varying testing locations the fees change for testing. Currently they range from $90-$135.
Step 5 – Get listed on the Nevada Nurse Aide Registry
The NV Board of Nursing CNA Registry is the full employment eligibility list of certified nursing assistants. The registry will be notified by Prometric after you have successfully passed the Nursing Assistant Competency Exam. Expect about two weeks for the process to play out before you get listed in registry.
